Sometimes A Second Chance Is All They Need

Our mission is providing at-risk animals a second chance through advocacy & financial support.

Founded by Tampa Bay Buccaneers Receiver Chris Godwin and his wife, Mariah, Team Godwin wants to help our community’s pets in need. Programs like our Second Chance Fund fund life-saving treatments for animals in need, while our advocacy programs are intended to promote the importance of animal adoption.

Giving “MVP” a Whole New Meaning

MVP doesn’t mean what you think it does.

Chris Godwin is giving MVP a new meaning through his MVP (Most Vulnerable Pets) Initiative. MVP is aimed at providing relief and resources for the most vulnerable members of our community when a natural disaster strikes. Pets are family, and through his Team Godwin Foundation he is working to ensure no family is left behind.

The Team Godwin Foundation is being recognized as an Advent Health Goal Getter for its efforts in animal rescue within the Tampa community.

Be a part of our movement.

Be a voice for the voiceless. Whether you’re most comfortable contributing time to help achieve our advocacy goals, donating to our program or spreading the word about our work, we need you.

Due to the overwhelming number of animals in need, many of our local shelters and rescues face extraordinary hardships having to cover the cost of each animals medical expenses. Our program allows us to help, by providing essential funds for medical services to severely ill animals.

Many animals in shelters are in need of medical treatment before they are eligible for adoption. Whether it is dental care, chemotherapy, an operation or treating heartworm disease, we aim to provide financial support to animals in need of life saving treatment.

We need your help.

“Nine times out of 10, they’re not [in shelters] because of anything they did. We want to use the platform that Chris and I have to educate people — to change minds. It comes full circle because we had no idea.”
