Everyone deserves a second chance.
Cecilia
Cecilia was surrendered to Mercy Full Project after being attacked by 4 other dogs. Her owners didn't have the means to pay for her surgery and were considering euthanasia.
Mercy Full took her in and Cecilia got the surgery she needed and has recovered nicely!
Team Godwin helped cover the expenses of Cecilia’s surgery and the staff atTLC PetSnip vet clinic made Cecilia as comfortable as possible.
She has since been adopted and her forever family says that she fits right in!
Cecilia has even helped their two foster pups come out of their shell since she developed her own adorable personality.
We are so happy that Cecilia is doing so well!
Chewy
Meet Chewy! This second chance pup had a condition called cherry eyes and has lived a difficult life in breeding.
Chewy came to Rags to Riches animal rescue in Tampa especially skittish and scared. He was extremely malnourished and his eye was cloudy from a past injury. Luckily with a lot of TLC, some vet visits, medication and socialization Chewy is flourishing!
After a few weeks of treatment and socialization Chewy was adopted!
The Elementary School Pups
In January 2023, Mercy Full Project in Tampa took in some puppies that were left dumped at an elementary school. They suffered from serious skin issues, tested positive for hookworms and were extremely malnourished.
But, with a little love and care, and funding from Team Godwin, we are extremely happy to report that these pups are happy, healthy and thriving now with their new families!
Andros & Valor
Meet Andros and Valor, both are estimated to be four or five months old and are gorgeous! Found in the Redlands, an agricultural area in South Miami that is a popular dumping ground for pets, these pups were estimated to have been fending for themselves for around two months.
After two good samaritans brought Andros and Valor to the shelter, arrangements were made to see if Husky Haven could help. Team Godwin provided funding to help these pups with medications and treatments! Through treatment, lots of love, patience and belly rubs from their foster families Andros and Valor are thriving!
Zoey
Zoey was brought to Turkey Creek Animal Hospital as a stray dog, badly injured & possibly hit by a car. She had 104+ fever, was in obvious distress, & was unable to move either of her rear legs.
The radiographs indicated that she was a victim of some unknown trauma that caused a luxation of the lumbar spine. She was put on fluids for her shock, & continued with pain management & anti-inflammatories. To make matters worse, Zoey also had a large, infected mammary tumor that was very uncomfortable for her. For such a small girl, she was enduring a huge amount of pain...
Over the next 4 weeks, though, Zoey proved she was a fighter! As she worked to overcome her spinal injury, the mammary mass ruptured & she became septic. She was rushed to surgery to remove the mass along with getting her spayed at the same time.
She recovered very well from her procedure, but is still unable to feel or move her rear legs. In spite of this disability she is happy & engaged with her foster family! She tells them every time she needs to potty, & she has a sparkle in her eye when she sees someone that loves her.
Her unwavering spirit has been an inspiration to us all, & we owe her the same dedication she continues to show! Team Godwin Foundation was more than happy to help Zoey & give her the second chance she deserved - with a new set of wheels!
Zoey has overcome ALL of the obstacles thrown at her except one: she is still looking for her perfect forever family!
Jerry
Jerry is a 60 pound deaf Lab Pit mix, who is estimated to be around 9 years old. Jerry is a happy, goofy boy who’s was fortunate to find his forever home! Team Godwin Foundation helped cover the expenses for Jerry’s heart worm treatment, a urinary tract infection and a surgery to remove a foreign object from his stomach.
One of the best things about this boy is that he has the cutest head tilt. At his final check up, the vet said that it could be neurological, but that he was in no pain & they did not expect it to affect his quality of life. The head tilt is just an adorable Jerry characteristic! Aside from the head tilt, his balance is a little off, but this does not have a major impact on his mobility. It just seems to add to his goofiness - when he runs around he kind of prances or looks like a baby horse getting used to long legs. He loves toys, treats, snuggles & back rubs. He also enjoys car rides and will sit in the passenger seat.
Jerry has been grateful for his second chance and to finally have a family after spending four years in a shelter in North Carolina.
Parvo Puppies: Lila Brown & Rocky
Lila Brown & Rocky are sharpei mix puppies rescued from Puerto Rico. They are both goofy, snuggle bugs who had a very rough start in life.
They were diagnosed with canine parvovirus, a highly contagious and deadly disease when they were only a few months old. The puppies received 24-hour care from our partner rescues staff who dedicated their time to keeping the puppies alive.
Team Godwin Foundation helped cover the expenses for their treatment and the staff gave it their all to give these pups a second chance. All of the hard work paid off and although a slow grueling process, they made a full healthy recovery.
Once healthy and happy, they found their happy ending and were adopted into loving homes.

Revan
Meet Revan, our Second Chance pup! Revan is a sweet, playful 3.5-year-old neutered male Bully breed mix dog. He first entered the shelter at Humane Society Pinellas in January of 2021 and was soon adopted in February of 2021. He returned to the shelter in June of 2021 after his adopter could no longer care for him. Upon his return, he was diagnosed with Heartworm Disease as well as a soft tissue injury to his left knee.
Revan has since been treated for heartworms and had TPLO surgery on his left knee. He is recovering well and recently had his sutures removed, and he is much more comfortable on his leg and barely has a noticeable limp!
Revan is currently living in a foster home while in his post-operative rehabilitation period.
Jethro
Jethro is a 6 yr old mixed breed. Unfortunately, like many dogs brought into the shelter he was diagnosed with heartworm disease. Jethro has completed his final heartworm treatment as of November 2021!
Team Godwin Foundation is happy to help with the cost of his Heartworm treatment and to report he has recently been adopted! Thank you to our partners at Humane Society Pinellas for helping this handsome dude have a second chance!
